Building on the success of the Water Conference last March, COSIA will host the Innovation Summit, providing an opportunity for COSIA member companies to showcase the good work being done within COSIA to “accelerating the pace of environmental performance improvement in the oil sands”.
The first COSIA Innovation Summit will take place on March 31 to April 2, 2015 at the Banff Springs Hotel.
COSIA’s four Environmental Priority Areas (EPAs) – Greenhouse Gas, Land, Tailings and Water – as well as the Monitoring Priority Area will host concurrent sessions over these three days. COSIA will also host a keynote speaker and panel discussion to complement the content of the event. The event will be held biennially, allowing in-depth, EPA-specific conferences, like the COSIA Water Conference to be held in the alternating years.
The conference planning committee is currently ironing out the details and will provide additional information in the coming weeks. We are currently calling for abstracts from academia, government and industry. If selected, presenters will be invited to either give a presentation during one of the sessions or present at the poster sessions scheduled March 31 and April 1.
“Given the quality of submissions received for the Water Conference, the content for the Innovation Summit promises to be just as compelling.” says John Brogly, Director, Water EPA for COSIA.
