Oil Sands Innovation Summit 2017
The second Oil Sands Innovation Summit, hosted by COSIA, Alberta Innovates (AI) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), builds on the 2015 Banff Innovation Summit discussions on accelerating environmental performance improvement in the oil sands in Alberta.
This biennial event will host concurrent sessions to enable industry, researchers, governments, and the service, supply and technology sectors to attend technical sessions four environmental areas: Land, Water, Tailings and Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) as well as topics that improve the innovation capacity of the sector.
The two-day Innovation Summit will take place on March 21 and 22 in Calgary, AB at WinSport (COP) in the Markin MacPhail Centre and will be preceded by workshops on March 20. Online registration will open soon and the conference planning committee is currently ironing out the details and will provide additional information in the coming weeks. We are currently calling for abstracts from academia, government and industry. If selected, presenters will be invited to either give a presentation during one of the sessions or present at the poster sessions scheduled March 21 and 22.
“Given the quality of submissions received for the 2015 Innovation Summit and the 2016 Water Conference, the content for the 2017 Innovation Summit promises to be just as compelling.” says John Brogly, COSIA Tailings Director.
